Artist’s statement

Through my art I have found a way to communicate how I see the world. Many of my paintings reflect my interpretation of what I perceive around me, from very small to universal dimensions. A love of animals and plants has inspired some of my paintings, while others have emerged entirely from my imagination.

I use acrylics - paints, gels, varnishes and adhesives - for their versatility, their capacity to dry quickly, their forgiving nature and their readiness to combine with other materials to form a collage. I enjoy the whole process: the fun of discovering and collecting natural and man-made materials, making my own papers and then working with the textures I create with all these materials.

Although I express my own feelings through my art, I hope to encourage the viewer to encounter his/her own imagination.

For me, life is a collage of experiences and sensations which I need to express through my art.

A través del arte he encontrado una manera de transmitir como percibo el mundo. Gran parte de mi obra refleja mi manera de interpretar lo que veo alrededor de mi, desde lo más pequeño hasta lo grandioso. Algunas de mis obras se han inspirado en mi amor por las plantas y los animales, mientras que otras provienen de mi imaginación.

Trabajo con acrílicos - pinturas, gels, barnices y pegamentos - por su versatilidad, su capacidad de secar rápidamente y combinar con papeles, arenas, semillas y otras materiales para hacer un collage. Gozo de todo el proceso: la diversión de descubrir y coleccionar materiales naturales y fabricados, haciendo mis propios papeles, y luego trabajando con las texturas que he creado con todos estos materiales.

Aúnque son míos los sentimientos que expreso a través de mis obras, espero que las personas que las vean desarrollen su propia imaginación.

Para mi la vida es un collage de experiencias y sensaciones que tengo que expresar a través de mi arte.
